What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working with a small but dedicated team in an open plan office and registered pharmacy within the Surrey Technology Centre, part of the world leading Surrey Research Park. Applying your pharmacy knowledge and skills to its traditional roots in natural medicines, integrating this knowledge with up-to-date scientific research and international regulations.

You’ll work to legal and ethical guidelines to ensure the correct and safe supply of medical and nutritional products to the public and our selected practitioners and retailers. This is a customer-facing role and you’ll be involved in maintaining and improving people’s health by providing advice and information, as well as supplying natural medicines and supplements.

The Naked Pharmacy is an OTC internet pharmacy without dispensing operations. This means that the right candidate must have excellent computer skills with both Microsoft and Apple Mac, be familiar with social media platforms, able to communicate through these social platforms, recording video blogs/social posts on healthcare topics for consumers. You will be able to respond to queries over multiple platforms including phone, social chat and e mails.

You’ll need to develop your skills in health writing, blogging, lectures, writing training manuals, responding to queries from customers and practitioners. You’ll also be involved in some of our sales and marketing work, in the UK and internationally. You will be expected to be comfortable in front of a camera and represent The Naked Pharmacy on social media platforms getting involved in social media posts, videos and lives.

The business is growing rapidly so there will be opportunities to increase your hours and involvement in the business as it evolves.

 

Responsibilities

You’ll need to:

  • Ensure that different treatments are compatible
  • Recommend over-the-counter natural medicines and supplements
  • Advise the public on the treatment of minor ailments
  • Advise patients of any adverse side-effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments
  • Train retail and support staff
  • Keep up to date with current pharmacy practice, training and records
  • Support the social media and marketing team with creating and filming content

 

Working hours

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business and join the nutraceuticals industry.

 

Who we’re looking for?

  • Be a GPhC registered pharmacist
  • Completed a period of one year pre-registration training in a community pharmacy, which covers key competencies in areas such as medicines and health, personal effectiveness and interpersonal skills
  • Meet the GPhC fitness to practise requirements for registration as a pharmacist.
  • An energetic and pro-active approach
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills, ability to use own initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numerical skills/excel spreadsheets
  • Confidence in dealing with people at all levels
  • Experience in drafting and proof reading copy/communications
  • Creative healthcare writing, blogger and vlogger
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, as well as to lead others in a team
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
  • An understanding of business principles
  • A willingness to take on a high levels of responsibility.

 

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Salary dependent on experience.
  • 37.5 hours per week (office based in Guildford). Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.
  • 60% staff discount on The Naked Pharmacy range.
  • 20 days annual leave (pro-rata) rising to 25 days after successful completion of 6 months probationary period.

The Role

The Naked Pharmacy is looking for a GPhC registered pharmacist to join our small yet mighty team based in Guildford. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, self-motivated and adaptable across all areas of the business.

What you'll be doing
