Every supplement brand seems to promise the same thing.
Science-backed.
Expertly formulated.
Developed by professionals.
They're reassuring words, but when every label makes similar claims, it becomes difficult to know who to trust.
At The Naked Pharmacy, we believe trust is built through transparency. By showing you how we make decisions, why we choose the ingredients we do, and who is responsible for formulating every product.
For us, every formulation starts with the evidence.
Why science comes first

The supplement industry moves quickly. New ingredients appear almost overnight, often fuelled by social media trends, celebrity endorsements or bold headlines.
Sometimes those ingredients go on to prove their value. Sometimes they don't.
That's why we don't formulate around trends, we formulate around evidence.
Before an ingredient ever makes it into one of our supplements, our pharmacists review the available scientific research. They look beyond a single study to consider the wider body of evidence, assess the quality of the research and evaluate whether the proposed dosage reflects what has actually been studied.
For example, if research suggests an ingredient supports hormonal health at 50mg per day, a supplement containing only 10mg may not deliver the same benefit. That's why we pay close attention not just to what ingredients are included, but how much is included too.
Science is always evolving, and no single study provides every answer. Looking at the bigger picture allows us to make informed decisions based on the weight of the evidence.
Sometimes that means choosing ingredients that aren't generating much online attention because the evidence behind them is stronger. Other times it means deciding not to include an ingredient that's become popular simply because the research isn't there yet.
For us, every ingredient has to earn its place.
What does "formulated by pharmacists" actually mean?

Many supplement brands work with manufacturers to develop products. At The Naked Pharmacy, every formulation starts with our pharmacists.
Pharmacists are healthcare professionals with a deep understanding of medicines, human biology and how different substances interact within the body. Their expertise goes far beyond understanding individual ingredients. They know how ingredients work together, how they may fit alongside medications and what makes a formulation both effective and practical.
Before anything reaches a capsule, our pharmacists ask:
- Why is this ingredient here?
- Is there good evidence behind it?
- Are we using enough for it to matter?
- Can the body absorb and use it effectively?
- Does it work well with the rest of the formula?
- Is the overall formulation something we'd feel confident recommending?
If an ingredient can't justify its place, it doesn't make the cut.
The result is a formulation where every ingredient has a clear purpose.
Less isn't about doing less
It's easy to assume that a supplement with the longest ingredient list must be the better product.
We don't see it that way.
Adding ingredients simply to create a more impressive-looking label doesn't necessarily create a better formulation. In fact, complexity without purpose can make products harder to understand and doesn't always add value.
Our pharmacists focus on selecting high-quality ingredients with a clear role to play, using evidence to guide every decision.
Every ingredient should have a reason to be there.
Why "Naked"?

For us, "Nakedness" stands for transparency and clarity. It reflects our commitment to honest ingredients, honest processes and being clear with our customers in a market that isn't always clear enough.
We believe you should understand what you're taking, why you're taking it and what each ingredient is there to do.
That means being open about our formulations, transparent about our ingredients and clear about the evidence that informs our decisions. It also means avoiding unnecessary fillers and communicating in a way that helps people make informed choices, rather than adding to the noise.
The supplement industry can often feel overwhelming. Conflicting advice, changing trends and increasingly complicated ingredient lists can make it difficult to know what's genuinely worth your attention. Our role is to bring greater clarity.
Rethinking What Pharmacy Can Be
As a registered pharmacy, we uphold the highest standards of safety and quality assurance. Our supplements are formulated using scientific rigour, evidence-based practice and professional expertise.
We combine this with the trusted guidance and human warmth of pharmacists, helping our customers integrate medication and supplementation safely, effectively and with confidence.
Our pharmacists don't simply formulate supplements behind the scenes. They're available to answer questions, explain our products and help you understand how supplementation may fit alongside medications and everyday life.
We believe supplements shouldn't exist in isolation; they should be considered as part of the bigger picture.
If you're unsure which supplements are right for you, or simply have questions about our formulations, you can book a free consultation with one of our pharmacists. They'll take the time to understand your needs, answer your questions and help you make informed choices with confidence.
Trust starts with transparency

Choosing supplements shouldn't feel like guesswork.
Our customers aren't looking for the biggest claims or the most fashionable ingredients. They're looking for confidence. Confidence that someone with clinical expertise has already asked the difficult questions before the product ever reaches the shelf.
That's why every decision we make starts in the same place:
With evidence.
With pharmacist expertise.
With complete transparency.
Science-backed means we begin with research.
Formulated by pharmacists means qualified healthcare professionals are responsible for every formulation, considering not only what goes into a product, but why it's there in the first place.
Together, these principles are what make The Naked Pharmacy different.
We believe trust isn't something you ask for, it's something you earn.
Still have questions?
Choosing the right supplements isn't always straightforward, and that's okay. If you'd like personalised guidance, you can book a free consultation with one of our pharmacists.
